Please give attention to these important dates. These special Sundays are significant to our church, and we hope you will make sure to attend them. Bring a friend as well!
Pastor Al Phillips
September should be an extremely fun month for our church. Parents and kids are settling back into their schoolyear routines, the fall sports season is underway, and boy, do we have a lot planned on our Sundays.
Awakening America:
9/11 Tenth Anniversary Service with all Public Officials Honored
First off, go ahead and make a point to invite your friends and neighbors to join us on September 11. As you know, this year will mark the tenth anniversary of that dreadful attack on the World Trade Center. As such, we are going to have a special recognition for all of our public servants. Firefighters, police officers, emergency response teams, and any other public civil servants are invited to attend and will be recognized. We are so grateful for the hard work in the often unappreciated jobs they do. Ten years ago, the initial shock of the event affected so many in our country. Some were driven to pray. Some driven to serve in our military. However, questions remain. Did America learn anything since 9/11? Are we better now than before? Are our priorities as a nation where they should be? Join us as we consider our role in Awakening America.
Back to Church Sunday
All across the country, churches will be gathering on September 18 for Back-to-Church Sunday, an initiative to connect people in the community with a local church. Many of us can think of someone who used to go to church. Do you know if your neighbor is part of a church anywhere? What about your schoolteacher? Your coworkers? Your child’s coach? Here at Bethlehem, we’ve decided to take B2C Sunday to the next level. During our service, we will be having a special Volunteer Recognition for all those that helped during the last year. We will be announcing our yearly You Make a Difference Campaign winners. We will be hosting plenty of free and fun activities for the kids. And maybe best of all, we will be serving BBQ for lunch* to all who attend. So invite anyone and everyone to join us on Sept. 18 for BACK-to-CHURCH Sunday!
* In order to get BBQ, you must obtain a free ticket in the morning service. Only one ticket needed for each family.
